Sophie Cunningham stands firm on trans athletes amid ‘hating’ backlash

Image
Indiana Fever’s Sophie Cunningham is standing by her comments on trans athletes. In an ESPN interview, the 29-year-old said she doesn’t hate trans people but wants to “protect young girls” and keep “biological men” out of women’s sports.  On Wednesday she doubled down: “I said what I said. It’s common sense... I stand by what I said.” She added she’s “not political,” calls herself “in the middle,” and believes “there’s room for everyone,” including trans athletes — but also that rights for biological women need protecting. Two Argentinians. Two legends. 36 years apart.

Image
Two Argentinians. Two legends. 36 years apart. Maradona 1986: Carried Argentina almost alone. The "Hand of God" + "Goal of the Century" vs England. 5 goals, 5 assists. Pure magic. Won it. Messi 2022: At 35, led with 7 goals, 3 assists. Scored in every knockout round + 2 in the final. Finally got the trophy he chased for 20 years. Who had the greater run? Maradona 1986 = most dominant individual World Cup ever.   Messi 2022 = greatest storybook ending in football history. Depends what you value more: raw dominance vs. destiny fulfilled.

Strait of Hormuz About Knowledge

Strait of Hormuz — about lines πŸ‘‡ 1. The world’s oil heartbeat. About 20% of the world’s oil and LNG passes through this  39 km wide waterway. 2. Tiny strait, huge impact. Just 21 miles wide at its narrowest, but it connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. 3. Between Iran and Oman. The strait is bordered by Iran to the north and Oman + UAE to the south. 4. Geopolitical pressure point. Because so much energy flows here, tensions in the Strait can move global oil prices overnight. 5. Always busy. Tankers, cargo ships, and naval vessels cross it 24/7 — one of the busiest shipping chokepoints on earth. 6. Shallow but strategic. Average depth is only about 60 meters, but its location makes it critical for trade and security.
