The biggest volcano is Olympus Mons on Mars

The biggest volcano is Olympus Mons on Mars

But if you mean biggest on Earth:

By size and volume:

Olympus Mons - Mars

- Height: about 22 km, 13.6 miles. That is nearly 3x taller than Mount Everest

- Width: about 600 km across, roughly the size of Arizona

- Type: shield volcano. It is so big it covers an area bigger than the whole country of Poland

Biggest on Earth:

1.  Mauna Loa - Hawaii

Height: 4,169 m above sea level, but 9,170 m from ocean floor to summit

Volume: biggest volcano on Earth by volume and area. It makes up half of Hawaii's Big Island

    Still active

2.  Tamu Massif - Under the Pacific Ocean

It is technically the largest by area. About 310,000 sq km

But it is extinct and underwater

Fun fact: Because Mars has lower gravity and no plate tectonics, lava could keep piling up in one spot for millions of years. That is why Olympus Mons got so huge.
