Mars Planet Red Planet

Mars — The Red Planet 🔴

About lines:

1. Why red? Mars looks red because its soil is full of iron oxide — basically rust. The dust gets blown around and covers everything.

2. 4th planet from the Sun. About 228 million km away. A year on Mars is 687 Earth days.

3. Cold and dry. Average temp is around -60°C. The atmosphere is thin, 95% CO2, so it can’t hold heat.

4. Half the size of Earth. Gravity is only 38% of ours. You could jump 3x higher there.

5. Two moons: Phobos and Deimos. Both are small, rocky, and shaped like potatoes.

6. Biggest features:

   - Olympus Mons — the largest volcano in the solar system, 3x taller than Everest

   - Valles Marineris — a canyon system that could stretch across the US

7. Water No rivers now, but there’s ice at the poles and evidence of ancient riverbeds and lakes. That’s why we look for signs of past life.

8. Robots live there. Rovers like Perseverance, Curiosity, and orbiters are studying rocks, weather, and searching for organics.

Mars is Earth’s neighbor, but it’s a frozen desert. Still, it’s our best shot for humans living off-planet one day.
